Oakmont Council welcomed two new members and one returning member during its first meeting of the year on Tuesday, Jan 2, as Nancy Ride, Jennifer Paris and Deborah L. Ormay were sworn in to serve four-year terms.
It is Paris’ and Ormay’s first time serving in an elected office.
Ride will be returning for her fourth term. She previously served on the council for three terms, from 2008 until 2015, then again in 2020. She was reappointed as council president. She previously served in the position for eight months.
Councilwoman Amanda Pagnotta was appointed as vice president for the first time. She will replace Tracey Holst, who submitted her resignation in December.
Council member Jamie Leonardi was appointed as President Pro Tempore.
Scot Fodi was reappointed as borough manager for the fifth straight year. Phyllis Anderson was named deputy manager for the fourth year.
Oakmont resident, Joanne Anderson, will remain the chair of the borough’s vacancy board. Randy Galm will remain borough treasurer for a third year.
The council is accepting applications to replace Holst’s position from residents through Tuesday, Jan. 16.

Applicants must be 18 or older, a registered voter and have resided in Oakmont for at least one year. Council positions are four-year terms and are unpaid.
