A man was transported to a local hospital with a head injury after crashing his four-door Saturn over a hillside in Bell Township.
Township Fire Chief Steve Master said crews were dispatched to the intersection of Route 819 and Route 66 near the Bell and Washington townships border shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday for an accident with entrapment.
He said the driver was traveling north along Route 819 when he failed to navigate a bend near Stefanick Drive, just before the Route 66 junction, and went over a hillside. The car struck a tree and sustained heavy front end damage.
“We stabilized the vehicle, helped the patient get out of the vehicle and we turned him over to EMS,” Master said.
Master said there were no issues with getting the patient or the car from the hillside.
This wasn’t the first time crews had to remove a vehicle from that area.
“In July, we had a pickup truck overturned and on fire in the creek,” Master said. “This bend seems to cause havoc.”
State police are investigating the crash.
