The body of a New Bethlehem man missing for a few months was found Thursday morning at Lock 8 in the Allegheny River, the Armstrong County Coroner said.

The victim, Shawn Hilliard, 40, was pronounced dead at the scene in Washington Township, the coroner said. The cause of death is pending an autopsy that will be conducted Friday.

The state police at Kittanning and the Armstrong County Coroner are conducting an investigation into Hilliard’s death. No additional details were available Thursday night.
