Lower Burrell Police looking for participants for Citizen Police Academy

Lower Burrell police are accepting applications from city residents for its Citizen Police Academy.

Classes start in March and will be limited to 25 residents, who must be 18 or older.

Topics of discussion include criminal and drug investigation, patrol techniques, firearms, juveniles and our youth commission, crime prevention, community policing, prosecuting cases, and mock trial.

There will be 10 classes in total. They will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on March 7, March 14, March 21, March 28, April 4, April 11, April 25, May 2, May 9, and May 16.

Applications can be found on the police department’s Facebook page and are due by Feb. 22. Send to Lower Burrell Police, Attention: Detective John Marhefka, 2800 Bethel Street, Lower Burrell, PA 15068.
