Oakmont and Allegheny County Police are investigating a burglary at the Kwik Fill gas station along Allegheny River Boulevard.

A cashier at the convenience store said someone broke through a door, stole a register and attempted to access the safe around 4 a.m. Friday.

Both the door and the register were replaced and the store reopened around 2 p.m.

The worker, who declined to release their name out of safety concerns, said no one was in the store at the time of the incident but it was caught on store surveillance cameras. No injuries were reported.

Messages left with Oakmont police were not immediately returned Friday evening.

Borough Manager Scot Fodi said county police were called to take over the investigation and no further information was released.

Anyone with information about the incident can contact Oakmont police at 412-826-1578 or the county tip line 833-ALL-TIPS (833-255-8477). Callers may remain anonymous.
