Kittanning man already on Megan's Law list facing child rape charges
All charges were held to court in a preliminary hearing for a Kittanning man accused of child rape.
Dwayne Edward Hawk, 52, is already named on the Megan’s Law list of people convicted of sex offenses.
Hawk, a lifetime reporter, is accused of raping a mentally challenged girl. Police allege the teen has has the mind of a 7-year-old.
State police say the alleged rape and related offenses happened in Manor, West Franklin and Plum Creek from last May through July.
Defense attorney Deb Yost is representing Hawk. “I have a defense. I have no comment at this time,” she said.
After Hawk’s hearing, District Judge J. Gary DeComo ordered Hawk to stand trial for rape, statutory sexual assault, two counts of indecent assault, and corruption of minors.
Hawk remains in the Armstrong County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.
