The Pittsburgh Brewing Co. this month hopes to repeat the massive turnout it had for last year’s inaugural Iron City Car Cruise — without the massive traffic jam that came with it.

After experiencing traffic snarls during last year’s car cruise, the brewery has been working to make adjustments for the Aug. 23 event, said Rachel Gill, Pittsburgh Brewing Co.’s marketing director.

During concerts after the inaugural cruise, officials made changes to help traffic flow more smoothly.

Gill said the brewery consulted local officials to avoid slowdowns for the cruise, which will be held on a Saturday.

“We are working with local townships and law enforcement to control traffic and traffic lights to ensure a quick entry,” Gill said.

Pittsburgh Brewing Co. and MaxMotive, based in Cheswick, have again collaborated to bring back the car cruise this year.

Registered vehicles participating in the car show will be allowed onto the property from 7 to 11 a.m. Spectators can gain entry from 11 a.m. on, Gill said.

The event is expected to feature 1,500 cars. There will be a mix of classic cars, muscle cars, hot rods and rare rides from across the region.

Admission is free for spectators, but they will be charged for parking.

Registration for the car cruise is $25 per vehicle and will remain open until the day before the event.

Car cruise participants may add a VIP option for $50. The addition includes taproom access, drink specials, light snacks and access to an after-party.

MaxMotive specializes in the sale of classic cars, muscle cars and custom vehicles.

Pittsburgh Brewing was “looking to partner with a locally owned car dealership, and they are the best in the business with their classic and custom cars, so the partnership was a perfect fit,” Gill said.

Aside from the cars, the event will feature activities including live music, barbecue trucks, snack vendors, food trucks, balloon animals, ax throwing and a car simulator.

Registration options can be found at maxmotive.com.
