People of all ages donned their coats and hats and braved the cold to watch the annual Harrison Township Christmas Parade on Saturday afternoon.

The pararde began at 1 p.m. at the intersection of Alabama Avenue and Broadview Boulevard and ended on Montana Avenue.

The Harrison Police Department cleared the roads with sirens and lights as people threw candy to onlookers from the Hilltop Hose Fire Company and Citizens Hose emergency vehicles.

The Highlands High School Varsity Marching Band kept spirits high as they played festive tunes. The school’s varsity cheer teams performed as the parade made its way down Broadview Boulevard. Various local businesses, local sports clubs and community groups participated in the parade — throwing a variety of candy to people along the sidewalk.

Bringing up the rear of the parade, Santa Claus waved at onlookers.

Attendees were invited to head to the Community Library of Allegheny Valley for photos and snacks with Santa after the parade was over.
