A former Indiana Township resident was sentenced Wednesday to two decades in prison for receiving material depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor, according to federal prosecutors in Pittsburgh.

Cam John Zmenkowski, 28, persuaded a minor to send him nude and sexually explicit images and videos from August to September 2022, according to a news release from the Justice Department’s Pittsburgh office. Law enforcement recovered the images and videos from Zmenkowski’s personal cellphone.

Zmenkowski was fired from his job in the Allegheny County Controller’s Office in February 2023 when he was charged with corruption of minors, indecent exposure, criminal solicitation involving a person less than 16 years of age, unlawful contact with a minor, dissemination to minors and two counts of indecent assault.

Assisting in the investigation were the FBI’s Pittsburgh Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, Allegheny County Police and Sharpsburg Police. The case was also handled through the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood initiative, launched in 2006 to combat increasing reports of child sexual abuse.
