Cheswick Council is looking to appoint someone to fill an empty two-year seat.

Michael Girardi, who won two seats in the Nov. 5 election, said Monday during a council reorganization meeting that he would take the seat he won with a four-year term. That leaves the two-year seat he won empty.

The person who assumes the two-year seat will complete the final two years of a four-year term of former Councilwoman Cathy Crail, according to Council President Paul Jack. Jack was reelected Monday as president of the seven-member council.

Girardi was elected vice president.

Residents interested in the open seat should send a letter by Feb. 7 to the borough or make an appointment with Jack by calling the borough at 724-274-5125. Letters of interest can be sent to Cheswick Borough, 220 South Atlantic Ave., P.O. Box 235, Cheswick, PA 15024.
