Body of missing Springdale man recovered from Allegheny River
The body of a Springdale man who had been missing since Oct. 30 was recovered Tuesday afternoon from the Allegheny River.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the identity of the man as Sean Michael Dugan, 58, of Springdale.
His body was found in the river near Penn Hills.
Dugan had been missing since Oct. 30. A search party had scoured the Harmar area for him for hours to no avail.
Detectives from the Allegheny County homicide unit are investigating.
Water rescue teams responded in the afternoon after a body was seen in the river along Allegheny River Boulevard. A call was received by Allegheny County Emergency Services at 12:42 p.m.
Assisting at the scene were officers and firefighters from Penn Hills and Oakmont, as well as river rescue teams from Blawnox and Pittsburgh.
Crews were on the scene for about an hour.
