Lauri Ann West Community Center fitness instructor Jody Guzman leads a class during the annual Spin Your Wheels fundraiser in Aspinwall on April 29.

A charitable fitness event brought more than 150 people into Aspinwall RiverTrail Park on April 29.

Donations are still being tallied for the eighth annual Spin Your Wheels fundraiser for Riding for the Handicapped of Western PA, a group that works to assist disabled children through therapeutic horseback riding.

The goal was to raise at least $20,000 for the stables, which are located just outside North Park.

Activities included spin classes, kickboxing, yoga, a children’s fitness class and an all-abilities dance party.

Dozens of gift baskets were raffled off. Free food and drinks were provided.

Students from A.W. Beattie Career Center in Allison Park braided guests’ hair.

Flourish Wellness Practice in Allison Park provided pulse electro-magnetic field therapy.

“It was really heartwarming to see the generosity of so many people and watch everyone that came have a great time all for a great cause,” said event organizer Jennifer Evashavik. “I appreciate everyone who participated in any way. And I know that the people from RHWPA and individuals who ride there are very grateful that they can continue to have a fun and beneficial activity.”
