Annual Howard Hanna clothing drive going on at Fox's Pizza in Oakmont
Lori Hummel of Oakmont recently launched Howard Hanna Real Estate’s 25th annual winter coat drive in the borough.
New or gently used coats, gloves, mittens and hats for adults and children can be donated to the cause at Fox’s Pizza Den, 314 Allegheny River Blvd.
“I’m like a big proponent of my community,” Hummel said. “Sometimes we think we live in an affluent community, but there are so many people in need. I just like to help people. We’ve been blessed in our life with our businesses and people supporting us and I just want to pass that along.”
The drive runs through March 1.
Drop-off hours are from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and from noon to 8 p.m. Sundays.
The clothing drive used to be at the former Oakmont Bakery location along Allegheny Avenue. The Hummels no longer own that building and moved things to Fox’s because it’s owned by her nephew, Greg Scampone.
Calls to the pizza shop were not returned by press time.
Clothes will be distributed to several organizations, including the Rosedale Food Pantry’s Clothing Closet in Penn Hills.
Call Lori Hummel at 412-287-1739 or email lhummel@howardhanna.com for more information about the clothing drive.
