Allegheny Valley School District will hold a vaccination clinic from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at Springdale Junior-Senior High School.

The clinic is in partnership with UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. It will be open to students and community members looking to receive the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

Third-dose Pfizer booster shots also will be available to those who already received their second dose at least six months ago.

To be eligible to receive the third dose, individuals must meet one of the following criteria:

• Immunocompromised

• 65 years old or older

• A resident of a long-term care setting

• 18-64 years of age with underlying medical conditions

• 18-64 years of age and increased risk based on institution or occupation

To schedule an appointment, click here or visit avsdweb.org. Select Allegheny Valley as the location. Students under 18 will need a parent or guardian to complete a permission form that will be sent to the school.

Allegheny Valley required mask wearing in the beginning of the school year as a part of the health and safety plan the school board passed in August.

The school has a covid dashboard tracker available on its website, found under “Covid-19 Information.” As of Oct. 5, the district reports a total of three active and 12 inactive covid cases among students this year. There are no reported cases among staff or contractors with the district.
