Neon Swing X-perience rocks Twin Lakes Park Saturday evening.

TGIF!

Summer may be winding down quicker than we’d like, but time marches on. Get out and savor every minute. There is plenty of fun to be found in Westmoreland.

Still swingin'

Neon Swing X-perience brings its joyful sound end of summer celebration Saturday.

Nick Barilla opens the show at 6:30 p.m., Neon Swing starts at 8 p.m. on the stage of the Rusnock Amphitheater, located in the Peach Plaza Expansion Area of Twin Lakes Park.

Take along your friends and family (it’s dog friendly, too), a comfortable folding chair and a picnic. The concert is sponsored by Lesco Federal Credit Union.

It's fair time

The 65th edition of the Westmoreland Fair celebrates “A Timeless Tradition.” The fair opens Friday and runs through Aug. 24 at the Westmoreland Fairgrounds, Mt. Pleasant Township.

“Here in Westmoreland County, agriculture is huge. This is agriculture’s time to shine,” says Sarah Sphon, in her first year as fairgrounds secretary. “For those who are not involved in agriculture, our carnival and other daily entertainment makes for a great family day event or date night.”

There truly is something for every one.

Delightful sounds

SummerSounds welcomes Bumper Jacksons to the St. Clair Park stage Friday evening.

Who or what is Bumper Jacksons? Let’s just take the description straight from SummerSounds website: “Roots, jazz, country and swing. Stories and songs of Appalachia. Come on down to Greensburg town, take a seat and be woven into a musical story that never stops being told.”

Intrigued? Take a listen and get to Greensburg to see it all unfold in person. This week’s concert, featuring pre-show music by Corey Carrozza, is sponsored by J.Corks and The Headkeeper Tapas Bar.
