A Plum man was taken to the Allegheny County Jail on Tuesday after police say they found several kilograms of suspected narcotics and weapons in his apartment.

Plum Det. Dan Moriarty said borough police, along with the District Attorney Narcotics Enforcement Team and federal DEA agents, served a search warrant at the Vale Avenue apartment of Solomon S. Givens, 52.

“Today was pretty much the end of the investigation,” Moriarty said. “We found about three kilos of drugs, including possible cocaine, methamphetamine and heroin.”

After Givens left his house on Tuesday, a member of the DANET team initiated a traffic stop and he was detained while the search warrant was executed.

Officers also say they found between $25,000 and $30,000 in cash and eight guns.

“Givens’ criminal history contains multiple felony convictions that fall under enumerated offenses that make him a person not to possess firearms,” Justin Keenan of the Swissvale Police wrote in a criminal complaint.

Givens was taken to the county jail and charged with three counts of drug possession with the intent to deliver, and eight counts of possession of firearms by a prohibited person.
