Trib offering journalism scholarships

Trib Total Media is now accepting applications for both the Scholarship for Diversity in Media and the Jim Borden Memorial Scholarship.

The Scholarship for Diversity in Media is open to high school seniors who are culturally, ethnically or racially diverse and are planning to study journalism, communication or English writing at a four-year college or university.

The scholarship will include financial assistance of up to $7,500 per year for four years, a guaranteed annual internship with Trib Total Media and an offer for full-time employment upon graduation.

The Jim Borden Memorial Scholarship is offered to high school or college students attending — or planning to attend — a four-year college or university to study journalism, English writing or communication. The recipient will earn up to $30,000 in scholarship money awarded in annual installments of up to $7,500, an annual internship with Trib Total Media and an offer for full-time employment upon graduation. The deadline to apply is Jan. 31.

Free Christmas Day dinner

Saint John Carnegie and St Paul’s Mt. Lebanon invite the community to a free Christmas Dinner delivered to your home. Meals will be delivered between noon and 3 p.m. Dec. 25. The dinners are available to residents of Carnegie and surrounding South Hills communities. Residents are asked to wear masks for delivery.

Women’s Business Network

Part networking group, part mastermind group, part educational resource, Women’s Business Network provides members with the tools to be successful, including goal setting, marketing and presentation skills; and services to help widen her circle of influence and expand her marketplace.

Fundraiser for WOMEN of Southwestern PA

If you live in the Pittsburgh area, you might want to play a Calendar Lottery Ticket with two chances to win daily in January matching the PA Lottery PICK 3 number. Proceeds benefit WOMEN of Southwestern PA, a local non-profit dedicated to helping women and children in need in five counties in the region. St. Elizabeth Elementary School fundraiser

Saint Elizabeth Elementary School is selling 2021 Lottery Calendars. The calendars are $30 with daily payouts of $50, nine days with a payout of $100, and two days at $150. Winners are determined based on the evening PA Lottery Pick 3 number – straight hit, first draw only.
