Brentwood Police body camera survey

Brentwood Borough has received a grant from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime & Delinquency which will permit the borough to outfit all officers with body-worn cameras. Prior to implementing such a program, Brentwood seeks to solicit community input and support. Residents are encouraged to participate in an online survey that can be accessed via brentwoodboro.com.

South Hills resident elected chairman of BCAP

Fran Bradley of South Park has been re-elected Chairman of the Broadband Cable Association of Pennsylvania, a Harrisburg-based trade association representing cable operators, programmers and industry suppliers throughout the state.

Bradley, a 50-year veteran employee of the cable industry, serves as director of government affairs for Atlantic Broadband, based locally in Johnstown. He was unanimously re-elected to a second consecutive two-year term as Chairman during the Association’s Annual Meeting, conducted remotely last month.

Whitehall receives grant for Union Park rehab

Whitehall Borough was one of the recipients of Community Conservation Partnerships Program grants. The borough received $118,000, which will be used for the rehabilitation of Union Park – projects include the construction of a parking area, installation of play equipment with required safety surfacing, ADA access, landscaping and project sign and other related site improvements.

The $665,452 in grant funding was part of a statewide announcement by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) totaling $23.4 million across 158 community park and partnership projects. More than 400 applications requesting almost $105 million in grant funds were received statewide in April 2020. Through a competitive process, the applications were reviewed, evaluated, scored, and ranked. In the coming weeks, DCNR will be announcing other grants in phases to address river conservation, riparian buffers, trails, and land trust and community acquisitions.
