Shooting in South Side injures 2
Pittsburgh police said they are continuing to investigate a shooting on the South Side early Sunday that sent two people to the hospital.
Police responded to South 12th Street and Bedford Square about 3 a.m. to investigate after receiving a ShotSpotter notification.
When officers arrived, public information officer Maurice Matthews reported, they discovered a man with a gunshot wound to his back and a woman who was also injured. Police reported she suffered a graze wound on her left leg.
The unidentified man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, Matthews reported. The woman was also transported to the hospital for treatment.
Witnesses told investigators a person inside a vehicle fired shots at the victims before fleeing in an unknown direction, police reported.
The investigation is ongoing.
