Shaler Area School District honored its third, sixth and eighth graders — students who are moving up to different buildings for the 2020-21 school year — with a series of parades.

Burchfield, Marzolf, Reserve and Scott primary schools; Shaler Area Elementary School and Shaler Area Middle School all participated. The schools’ teachers stood outside with signs of well wishes and shook pom poms as students drove by with their families.

Shaler Area High School’s Senior Send-Off takes place Friday from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Faculty and staff will line the high school campus to cheer the class of 2020 on, hand graduates their diplomas in their cars.

As a result, Paul Schweiger Way is closed until 1:30 p.m.
