Sewickley’s parking system has been updated and meters will be operational in zones 1 and 2, beginning Friday.

Parking enforcement was suspended July 16 for system maintenance.

According to Sewickley Parking Authority Chairwoman Cynthia Mullins, the rate in Zone 2 has been reduced to 50 cents per hour. Zone 1 remains $1 per hour for three hours. After three hours, the rate is $2 per hour.

Enforcement hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

The next two Saturdays — July 25 and Aug. 1 — parking will be free for Christmas in July sidewalk sales, an event sponsored by Sewickley Valley Chamber of Commerce.
