The Sewickley Bridge connecting Moon and Sewickley has reopened slightly ahead of schedule after four weeks of closures for rehab and repairs.

The bridge closed July 17 and was scheduled to be closed until Monday, though Swank Construction crews wrapped up work a day and a half early, according to PennDOT.

Some work remains, however, and single-lane alternating traffic starting Monday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., officials said. Work will continue through November on the $3.69 million project.

Construction on the bridge has included milling and paving, and further work will involve painting, rocker bearing replacement and other construction.

Drivers who would like email updates on the bridge constructions can add themselves to a distribution list for Sewickley Bridge work by emailing stcowan@pa.gov with “Subscribe – Sewickley Bridge” in the subject line.
