Quaker Valley High School students and staff have crowned their homecoming king and queen for this school year.
Seniors William Musial and Mia Hrabovsky were named school royalty at half-time of the Sept. 29 football game between the Quakers and Hopewell Vikings.
William is a four-year member of the cross-country team, as well as the cultural alliance and the Quaker Quill. He is also a veteran of school district musicals and works at the Sewickley Public Library.
He plans to attend a four-year college and become a teacher.
Mia is a four-year member of the swim and track teams and marching band. She is a rower with Three Rivers Rowing and participates in swimming and pickleball with the Special Olympics. She also volunteers with Light of Life Ministries.
Mia plans to get involved in Slippery Rock University’s Rock Life Program.
High School football players, cheerleaders, band members and color guard participated in pep rallies across the district on Sept. 29, visiting each of the buildings as an opportunity to ramp up school spirit prior to the homecoming game.
There was a parade from the high school to the ball field. The Quakers prevailed in the game 38-20.
The homecoming dance was held at Chuck Knox Stadium on Sept. 30.
Other members of the homecoming court were Saige Capek, Deja Keo, Bella Soderstrom, Mia Strelec, Lizzie Szuba, Gavin Fallgren, Brahm Gianiodis, Bennett Haas, Jack Szuba and Grant Webb.
