Allegheny County police are investigating after a man’s body was found floating in the Ohio River in the area of Neville Island late Wednesday.

A boater who was fishing in the area reported the body shortly after 11 p.m.

The body was recovered and taken to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The man is described as a white male approximately 40 to 50 years of age. At the time of recovery, he was wearing blue shorts with white stripes.

Detectives said they are working with Ohio Township police and the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the man’s identity and cause and manner of death.

Anyone with information concerning the incident is asked to call the Allegheny County Police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (1-833-255-8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
