Democrat Giuseppe Rosselli and Republican Joseph Bellissimo each earned their party’s nominations for a Sewickley-based magisterial district that includes Franklin Park, according to complete but unofficial returns from the Allegheny County Elections Division.

Bellissimo ran solely for the Republican nomination while Rosselli and candidates Michael J. Lepore and Glen Sovich all cross-filed to appear on both the Republican and Democratic ballots. State law allows cross-filing in races for magistrate district judge.

Bellissimo was the top vote getter for his party with 982 votes, followed by Sovich with 867 votes, Rosselli with 476 votes and Lepore with 362 votes with 100% of precincts reporting.

There were five write-in votes.

Rosselli was the top Democratic vote getter with 1,567 votes, followed by Lepore with 1,095 votes and Sovich with 711 votes. There were 22 write-in votes.

Magistrate Robert L. Ford decided not to run for reelection and will retire at the end of the year. Ford’s district, 05-3-02, encompasses Aleppo, Bell Acres, Edgeworth, Franklin Park, Glen Osborne, Glenfield, Haysville, Leet, Leetsdale, Sewickley, Sewickley Heights and Sewickley Hills.
