To have allowed the building to get into that condition is a violation of the responsibility of a shepherd to conserve resources.
To have allowed the building to get into such a decrepit appearance has been an ongoing insult to the neighbors — actually, the whole community.
To have allowed this by the management permits the local community to have a slanderous opinion of the individuals who constitute the parish.
Furthermore, if perchance the parish might be able scrape up sufficient donations to rehabilitate the property and sell it at a profit, it could enhance the reputation of those responsible for the situation and would have taken resources away from those who donated.
I propose that an agreement be reached between the parish and the Sewickley Valley Historical Society that if the society is able to find a buyer satisfactory to the society, the property be sold at a nominal sum to that approved buyer.
