Oil at $100/barrel, gasoline at $6/gallon, and natural gas about to be shut off for much of Europe … it just makes sense to make any newly constructed building as immune to these shocks as possible. The choice for the Quaker Valley School Board is clear: have the new Quaker Valley High School designed as a net zero energy building. With excellent insulation, a high efficiency HVAC system, LED lights, etc., etc., and with PV panels on top, this will be a resilient structure that can serve the community for the uncertain future.

A building that needs no energy from the grid should have no energy problems.
