Juneteenth Art & Music Festival

The Sewickley Community Center will host a Juneteenth Art & Music Festival on June 18 from noon-6 p.m. It is free and open to the public. There will be live music featuring The Flow Band, Ibeji Drum Ensemble and more, as well as children’s activities, vendors, a raffle, tours of the center, swimming ($2) and more. Art Extravaganza

Sewickley Academy’s annual Senior School Arts Extravaganza is June 2-4, beginning at 7 p.m. daily. It will highlight artistic endeavors across multiple mediums. There will be three student-written and student-directed one-acts in Gregg Theater, a student-choreographed dance piece and the Jazz Band performing in Rea Auditorium, and a full visual art show in the Campbell Gallery in the lobby of Rea Auditorium showcasing the painting, drawing, sculpture, and pottery of our amazing Senior School artists. The event is free and open to the public.

Upcoming meetings

Shade Tree Commission will meet at 7 p.m. June 6 at the Sewickley borough building, 601 Thorn St. The meeting is open to the public. Anyone interested in learning more about trees in the borough should attend.

The Sewickley zoning hearing board will meet at 7 p.m. June 7 at the borough building.

Senior Men’s Club

An affiliate of the Sewickley Valley YMCA, the Senior Men’s Club will host Mission Aviation Fellowship’s Peter Santana on June 3 at the YMCA. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. for an informal social gathering followed by the presentation at 10. Sgt. Glenn Young of Sgt. Young’s Safety Program, will speak on kids in danger on June 10.

Fully vaccinated individuals are not required to wear a mask. Nonvaccinated individuals are requested to wear a mask. For more information, visit smensclub.org.

Greater Pittsburgh Business Connection

The Greater Pittsburgh Business Connection, a referral group of business professionals, will meet June 8 at the Eat’n Park on Route 60 in Robinson Township for breakfast from 7:15 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Speakers will be John McLay of WesBanco and Jason Henze of OVerhead Door Company of Greater Pittsburgh.
