The National Weather Service on Saturday evening issued a severe thunderstorm warning until 5:45 p.m. for Allegheny County and northern Washington County.

The weather service said the storm was moving east from Washington County with heavy rain and wind gusts up to 60 mph. It said residents should expect damage to trees, power lines and possible electrical outages.

Residents should move to an interior room on the lowest level of a building when the storm hits, according to the weather service.
