Riverview School District readies for student return
Riverview School District will be welcoming students back to school on Thursday, Aug. 22.
The district has welcomed multiple new hires for the year, including special education director, Jamie Desrochers; full-time teachers Mary Evankovich and Lindsay Pica; and six paraprofessionals that will be placed throughout district schools.
In the days leading up to students’ return there are multiple events scheduled for students and teachers.
“There are very few fields that start new each year,” said Superintendent Neil English. “Education is one of them. Every year, we are fortunate to be able to start fresh with new groups of students, new staff, new academic goals and a renewed excitement for the start of a new year.”
In a statement to the community, English said the district will continue to focus on academic excellence, individualized student growth and educational planning.
“We are proud of our Raider community and the collaborative spirit that makes Riverview a truly special place,” English said. “Together, we will make this upcoming school year fun, memorable and impactful.”
