Flooding closes several Western Pa. roads
Several roads in the region are closed because of flooding.
In Westmoreland County, Route 381 in Ligonier Township is closed from Rolling Rock Lane to Route 30.
PennDOT announced the closure at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. That stretch of road often is subject to flooding during heavy rains.
In Washington County, Route 2020 (Ten Mile Road) in Amwell Township is closed between Little Creek Road and Trolley Road.
Route 2019 (Almond Road) in Ellsworth Borough is closed from Main Street to Chestnut Street.
Route 2036 (Pike Run Drive) in California Borough is closed between Ventura Drive and Powerhouse Road.
In Greene County, Route 2017 (Muddy Creek Road) in Cumberland Township is closed between Route 21 and Carmichaels Road.
PennDOT said the roads will be reopened as soon as it is safe to do so.
Citing the threat of heavy rains, the National Weather Service’s Pittsburgh office issued a flood watch through 8 a.m. Saturday for areas of Southwestern Pennsylvania near and south of Interstate 70.
