A teen died in a one-vehicle crash late Saturday night in Mercer County, state police said.

State police said the crash happened shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Brent Road just west of Old Mercer Road in Springfield Township.

According to state police, Russell T. Cyphert, 21, of Volant was driving an SUV west on Brent Road when he failed to negotiate a right hand curve.

The vehicle went off the south side of the road, hit a tree and overturned. It then crossed both lanes of the road to the north side, stopping on its driver’s side facing east.

Dylan Emery, 17, a rear passenger, was pronounced deceased at the scene. State police did not say where he was from.

Cyphert and two other unidentified juvenile passengers, both 16 with one from Volant and the other from Slippery Rock, were taken to AHN Grove City Hospital by ambulance. The severity of their injuries wasn’t released.
