Pennsylvania State Police say a 21-year-old Somerset County man was duped into attending a “house party,” where he was severely beaten and subjected to “Russian roulette.”
Charles D. Sleasman, 22, of Plum and Eric Flamm, 24, of Somerset were arraigned on assault charges after allegedly tying the man’s hands and beating him with a belt and brass knuckles. The man suffered a broken jaw.
After removing bullets a handgun, Sleasman held the gun to the man’s head and twice pulled the trigger, stating “he was playing Russian Roulette,” Trooper John Wogan wrote in court papers.
Sleasman also threatened the man with a hunting knife.
Flamm’s girlfriend, Nicole Cramer, 28, of Somerset helped plan the party which took place April 19 at a residence on Glades Pike in Somerset Township, Wogan said. Cramer is charged with harassment and simple assault.
The man’s hands were tied behind his back and he was choked after arriving at the party, Wogan wrote.
“Cramer proceeded to yell at the victim and hit him in the face multiple times because she alleged the victim ruined her and (Flamm’s) recent anniversary,” the complaint said.
Police said others attending the party beat and kicked the man. They were not charged.
“They did strike the victim under the direction of Sleasman, however, they did not want to be involved and did so while in fear of Sleasman,” Wogan reported.
Troopers said Sleasman and Flamm warned the man not to speak with police.
In addition to the broken jaw, police observed severe bruises on the man’s back, chest and face when troopers interviewed him three days later.
Sleasman and Flamm were arrested Thursday. Sleasman was jailed on $150,000 bond, and Flamm on $100,000 bond.
Cramer has not been arraigned, according to court records.
