Sheetz announced Thursday it is extending its extra pay for employees until June 4.

When the $3 an hour increase was announced March 25, it was set to run through April 23, for all employees working during the pandemic.

“This extension is to express our continued gratitude for our hardworking employees,” said Travis Sheetz, president and COO of Sheetz, Inc. in a statement.

Sheetz convenience stores are considered essential businesses and are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Sheetz said the health of his employees, customers and surrounding communities remain a top priority through this crisis.

Established in 1952 in Altoona, Sheetz, Inc. employs 20,000 people and operates 600 stores throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio and North Carolina.
