A 14-year-old boy was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Indiana County on Monday, according to state police.

The boy was a passenger in a pickup truck that police said ran a stop sign in Montgomery Township in the northeastern part of the county. The pickup was being driven by an 18-year-old Cherry Tree man when it drove into the path of an SUV at the intersection of Cherry Tree Road with Moyer and Acadia roads.

The collision caused the pickup to overturn, police said. The 14-year-old boy, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:10 p.m., according to Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman. Police did not say if either driver or a second passenger in the pickup truck were hurt.

Troopers did not release the identities of the people involved in the crash. Overman did not release the name of the boy who was killed. An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday.
