PepsiCo opens distribution center in Coraopolis
PepsiCo has an eye on expansion as it opened a 150,000-square-foot distribution center and warehouse in Coraopolis.
The facility officially opened Wednesday near Pittsburgh International Airport. It handles about 10 million cases annually of beverages like Pepsi, Starbucks, Gatorade and Rockstar that it sends to retailers in Allegheny, Butler, Beaver and Washington counties.
For over 60 years, PepsiCo Beverages North America operated a facility in McKees Rocks, which it consolidated into the new spot about eight miles away. About 90% of those employees joined the move, according to John Reale, senior vice president and general manager.
“This is a great location for us to continue our growth and serve as multiple counties,” Reale said. “Bringing our employee base along with us is important.”
The building’s footprint can add 32,000 square feet and accommodate up to 300 workers. About 275 are employed currently.
”With this new facility, we have upgraded our operation, providing a better experience for our team,” said Richard Glover, North Division President, PepsiCo Beverages North America. “We look forward to future growth and strengthening our relationships within this market.”
PepsiCo Inc. is headquartered in Harrison, N.Y. The multinational food and beverage corporation generated more than $86 billion in net revenue in 2022.
