Beef farmers will have a chance in October to learn more about how to market the meat from their animals during a workshop offered by the Penn State Extension.

Beef cattle producers can attend a two-day workshop on Oct. 22-23, 2019 at Penn State University Park. The workshop also is supported by the Pennsylvania Beef Producers Working Group.

The “Beef Cattle Short Course” will feature the science and practices aimed at improving beef marketing as well as topics related to beef cattle production. The course will include lectures, keynote speakers, and hands-on demonstrations from experts in the cattle industry.

Topics include live cattle evaluation, marketing beef cattle, meat quality, nutrition and pricing structures.

The cost of the two-day course is $25 per participant. Space is limited to the first 60 registrants. Attendees are expected to be present both days. Lunch will be provided.

To register, visit extension.psu.edu/beef-short-course or call 877-345-0691. For more information, contact Tara Felix at 814-865-0065 or tfelix@psu.edu.
