The Allegheny National Forest in Northwestern Pennsylvania was among the top camping destinations in the country during the past year, according to Hipcamp.com.

The state’s only national forest ranked second on a top 10 list of camping destinations, being beat out for the top spot by Cape Cod, Mass.

The Allegheny National Forest includes land in Elk, Forest, McKean and Warren counties and has numerous recreation opportunities, including hiking and water sports.

Other spots that made the list include the Finger Lakes in New York, Ozark National Forest in Arkansas and the Blue Ridge Parkway which spans Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee.

Hipcamp is a website where campers can find public and private sites around the country.
