Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said he will be in attendance Saturday at former President Donald Trump’s rally at the Butler Farm Show grounds.

The richest man in the world is coming to Butler.

Elon Musk announced late Thursday on the social media platform X (previously Twitter) that he will attend former President Donald Trump’s campaign rally at Butler Farm Show grounds Saturday.

Musk, who famously bought Twitter with a promise to protect free speech, is an entrepreneur who cofounded the electronic-payment firm PayPal and formed SpaceX, maker of launch vehicles and spacecraft.

He also was one of the first significant investors in, as well as chief executive officer of, the electric car manufacturer Tesla. He is ranked as the wealthiest man in the world by Forbes with a net worth of $258 billion.

Musk has become a key figure in Trump’s campaign in recent months and has increased his political spending for Republicans across the board. He has spoken of wanting to be part of Trump’s administration should the former president win reelection, and Trump has mentioned him for a position geared toward streamlining the federal government’s executive branch.

Trump will return to Butler nearly three months after he was grazed by a bullet in an assassination attempt there this summer.

Doors open at the farm show, 625 Evans City Road, at 10 a.m. Saturday. Trump is scheduled to deliver remarks at 5 p.m. Reports indicate Secret Service agencies are anticipating attendance to be between 15,000 to 60,000 people. Most hotels in the Butler area are reporting they’re completely booked.

Trump has campaigned heavily in Pennsylvania since that assassination attempt, but this will be his first time back in Butler County since a bullet grazed his right ear July 13.
