A motorcyclist died after a crash with a pickup Saturday afternoon in Washington County, state police said.

State police said Zachary C. Strohmeyer, 37, of Avella was traveling east on Vance Road in Cross Creek Township on a Harley-Davidson when he became distracted and hit an oncoming pickup head-on.

Strohmeyer was taken to Weirton Hospital, where he died, state police said.

State police did not provide the name of the pickup driver, a 17-year-old from Avella. The driver was taken to Weirton Hospital with a suspected minor injury.

A passenger in the pickup, who was not identified, was taken to Allegheny General Hospital. No information was provided on that person or their injuries.
