Warehouse fire causes traffic issues in Butler County

An abandoned, three-story warehouse caught fire Friday morning in Butler.

Calls came in about 3:30 a.m. for a large fire on South Cliffton Street, according to Butler County 911.

Route 356 (East Wayne Street) has been closed to all traffic. Tractor-trailer drivers are being asked to detour around the area to avoid navigating side streets.

According to Tribune-Review news partner WTAE, the warehouse was boarded up upon emergency service arrival and no injuries have been reported from the incident.

Lawrenceville Shop ’n Save served with consumer alert

The Shop ’n Save in Upper Lawrenceville was given another consumer alert by the Allegheny County Health Department.

A department inspector cited the grocery store on 56th Street for violations including selling expired food, poor cleaning and sanitation, malfunctioning plumbing fixtures and inadequate pest management.

The store has 10 days to fix the issues before another inspection.

The store was cited for similar issues around the same time last year.
