Man shot in Pitcairn

A man was shot in Pitcairn early Friday morning, according to Allegheny County Police.

Officers responded at 3:44 a.m. to the 300 block of Kenney Avenue for a report of a shooting. On arrival, first responders found a man with a gunshot wound, police said.

The man was taken to an area hospital and is listed in “critical but stable condition,” police said.

Detectives are investigating.

Fire breaks out at Beaver County restaurant

A fire broke out Thursday evening at a restaurant in Beaver County.

Fire crews responded around 9:30 p.m. to Giuseppe’s Tuscany Grill in Homewood Borough, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.

No injuries were reported.

Officials said it remains unclear how the fire started.

Beaver Falls homicide suspect captured by U.S. Marshals

Daniel Felo, the man accused by police in connection to a December homicide in Beaver Falls, was taken into custody Thursday in Connellsville by U.S. Marshals.

The charges against Felo, 37, stem from a Dec. 30 incident, in which 48-year-old Eric Mason was found dead in Beaver Falls.

On Thursday, the U.S. Marshals Task Force members, and the Beaver Falls and Connellsville police departments, arrested Felo without incident at the 500 block of North Pittsburgh Street in Connellsville, the U.S. Marshals said.

According to a criminal complaint, Mason’s body was found wrapped in tarps and tied with extension cords in an abandoned building in Beaver Falls. He was shot in the back of the head.

A witness told authorities they overheard Felo talking about Mason and how he was going to kill him, the complaint said. Another person told police Felo spoke with them about shooting Mason and then demonstrated how he fell after being shot.

Felo is being charged with homicide, robbery and the prohibited possession of a firearm.

State constable facing drug charges

An elected state constable in Fayette County is facing drug-related charges.

Michael Scott Mucy, 58, was charged by Uniontown Police with numerous offenses including possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, methamphetamine, according to Fayette County District Attorney Mike Aubele.

Mucy is an elected state constable from Redstone Township.

According to court records, Mucy was unable to post $20,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 28.
