Morning Roundup: Man dead after domestic incident in Beaver County; crashes close roadways

Man found dead of self-inflicted wound after 4-hour search in Midland, police say
Police in Midland, Beaver County, deemed the borough’s streets safe after several tense hours late Monday and early Tuesday in which authorities declared a travel lockdown as they searched for a man with an AR-15-style assault rifle.
The search ended when police said they found the man dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police didn’t identify the man.
Midland police said in a Facebook post that a borough officer responded to a reported domestic dispute just after 9 p.m. Upon arrival, the officer reported hearing a single gunshot being fired from somewhere in the surrounding area.
The man’s body was found after a four-hour search.
Emergency services report to I-279 near Venture Street
According to a 511 PA post on X (previously Twitter), the I-279 near Venture Street in the Perry North neighborhood was shut down in both directions just before 5 a.m. Tuesday following a crash at the fourth mile marker in the southbound lanes.
Allegheny County 911 said firefighters and paramedics were all called to the scene, but no one has been transported to the hospital.
The road reopened just before 6 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Crash shuts down part of I-80 in Clarion County
According to another 511 PA post on X (previously Twitter), a multi-vehicle crash has shut down part of Interstate 80 in Richland Township in Clarion County early Tuesday morning.
The Emlenton Fire Department told TribLive’s news partner WTAE that the crash happened a little after midnight on the Emlenton Bridge, shutting down the road between exit 53 and exit 42.
There is a detour in place with the closure expected to last into the daylight hours.
