Rivers Casino theft arrest

State police said they made an arrest in a $20,000 theft from Pittsburgh’s Rivers Casino on Dec. 4.

Police said the casino’s security director reported the crime on Dec. 23. After reviewing security tape, police found that a player services manager, Yancy Yeater, 41, of Canonsburg, took two bands of $100 bills while he was organizing the main bank cabinet.

Police said Yeater took the money to the bathroom, hid it in his clothing and then left the property. Yeater was taken into custody when he arrived for his shift on Dec. 23. He is being held in Allegheny County Jail on felony theft charges, police said.

The animals seized included dogs, cats, snakes, rats, a ferret, a bearded dragon and a goat. They were taken to the ANNA Shelter in Erie.

The animal neglect investigation is ongoing, police said.
