Medical examiner identifies victim of Sunday shooting in Wilkinsburg

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office on Wednesday afternoon identified the victim of Sunday’s fatal shooting in Wilkinsburg.

Daniel Richard Hurley, 40, address unknown, was shot in the 100 block of East Bryn Mawr Court, according to the medical examiner. No cause or manner of death has been released yet.

The county’s homicide unit responded to a request for assistance in Wilkinsburg just before 3 p.m. Sunday, according to Allegheny County 911.

When first responders arrived, they discovered Hurley, who died after being taken to a local hospital. Homicide detectives are investigating, police said.
