An Armstrong County man who escaped custody from the back of a Kittanning police cruiser Thursday is back in custody.

Kittanning police reported on its Facebook page that Dalton K. Mull, 28, of Manorville, was taken into custody Friday afternoon by borough police with the assist of Manor Township police, state police and county sheriff’s deputies.

Police said in the post that Mull was taken into custody without incident. No further details on his capture were available.

Mull was initially arrested Thursday night on charges of burglary, terroristic threats and simple assault. While in custody, Mull escaped from the back of a police car while it was parked at the police station.

Armstrong 911 sent out reports to police that he was barefoot and handcuffed when he went on the run.

According to online dockets, Mull was arraigned late Friday afternoon on additional charges of escape and theft. He is being held in the Armstrong County Jail on $50,000 bond pending preliminary hearings March 9.
