An investigation into the officers that shot former Canon-McMillan wrestler Logan Macri is expected to wrap up early next week, Washington County District Attorney Eugene Vittone said.
Macri is recovering at UPMC Presbyterian.
Cpl. Sarah Teagarden, a state police spokeswoman, said a warrant for his arrest has been obtained, and Macri will be arraigned once he’s medically cleared.
Police shot Macri, a 2018 state high school wrestling champion, multiple times on April 14 after they were called to his house in North Strabane for a report of a domestic assault.
Officers from North Strabane and Canonsburg found Macri outside brandishing a firearm. While they were attempting to take him into custody, Macri pointed an AR-15 rifle at the approaching officers, according to a criminal complaint filed against him. Officers shot, striking Macri several times, the report said.
All of the officers involved in the initial call are on administrative leave while state police have been conducting their investigation.
