State police arrested a Homer City man who fled from police and was wanted in Armstrong County for drug and alcohol-related charges.

On Friday, state police in Indiana attempted to pull over Drew Bittner, 19, in White Township, Indiana County, after Bittner was speeding.

Bittner initially pulled into the parking lot of the White Township Hoss’s Steak and Sea House, but then fled at a high rate of speed, according to state police.

As police pursued Bittner, they said he ran through several red lights and police eventually lost sight of him.

Later that day, another Indiana trooper spotted Bittner’s vehicle in Homer City. That trooper pursued Bittner, whose vehicle became disabled when he hit a curb. Bittner then pulled into his residence, where police took him into custody.

During his arrest, police say he was under the influence of and in possession of marijuana.

Bittner faces two felony charges for fleeing police. Earlier in December, he was charged with DUI and drug-related charges in Armstrong County.

He is currently being held in the Indiana County Jail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 9.
