A Farmington man was killed Tuesday when the SUV he was driving crashed head-on with a tractor-trailer in Fayette County, according to state police.

Arnold E. Savage, 66, was pronounced dead at the scene on Route 40 in Henry Clay Township, police said.

The crash was reported at 7:22 a.m. on National Pike near the National Trail Motel. Savage’s SUV veered into oncoming traffic and collided with a tractor-trailer being driven by Moustapha Ndiaye, 32, of New York City, police said.

Ndiaye’s passenger Souhail Talibi, 30, of Linden, N.J., was taken by ambulance to Uniontown Hospital for treatment of what police described as minor injuries.

The crash closed the highway for a time between Dinner Bell-Ohiopyle and Flat Rocks roads.
