Kane Regional Center Glen Hazel.

Three more residents of Kane Community Living’s Glen Hazel location have died from the coronavirus, according to information from Allegheny County and Kane officials.

Sixteen residents at the county-owned facility have died since the outbreak began. The Rivermont Drive facility is home to 174 residents, and 112 have been tested for covid-19. Of those tested, 76 have tested positive. Eight have been hospitalized.

Of the residents who where ill, 47 have recovered. Kane officials consider a resident recovered when two weeks have passed since the onset of symptoms and the patient has been symptom-free for at least three days. A physician must also sign off on deeming a patient recovered.

Along with the 76 residents, 42 employees at the Glen Hazel facility have tested positive. A total of 79 have been tested. There are no test results pending at the Glen Hazel facility among residents or staff.

The virus was first reported in Kane’s Glen Hazel location March 25, when an employee tested positive. Two residents tested positive two days later.

One resident and one employee at Kane’s Scott location have tested positive for the virus, along with one employee at the McKeesport and Ross facilities.

Tests for two residents and one employee are pending in McKeesport. In the Ross location, tests are pending for one resident and one employee. A test is pending for one employee at the Scott facility.
